Australian Slip Testing is a NATA-accredited independent slip resistance testing laboratory, specialising exclusively in the scientific measurement of pedestrian surface slip resistance across Australia. We conduct wet pendulum testing, dry floor friction testing, and laboratory classification of flooring materials in accordance with AS 4586 and AS 4663.
Our laboratory is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) to ISO/IEC 17025, the internationally recognised standard for testing and calibration laboratory competence. NATA accreditation means every result we produce is independently verified, traceable, and suitable for compliance, legal, and insurance purposes.

Australian Slip Testing was founded in 2022, but our expertise runs considerably deeper. Our managing director has been directly involved in slip resistance testing as a technician and laboratory manager since 2012, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience in testing methodology, standards interpretation, and compliance reporting to every engagement.
That depth of experience shapes how we work. We approach every test with scientific rigour, apply the standards as they are written, and deliver results that stand up to scrutiny in any context, whether for a routine compliance audit, an insurance investigation, or a legal proceeding.
Australian Slip Testing is an independent provider. We have no affiliation with flooring suppliers, surface treatment contractors, or remediation companies. We do not sell coatings, anti-slip treatments, or flooring products.
That independence is fundamental to the credibility of our results. When we classify a surface, our classification is based solely on what the science tells us, not on any commercial interest in the outcome. Our clients can present our results with confidence, knowing they reflect an objective assessment by an accredited, independent laboratory.
Every Australian Slip Testing technician holds a current Working With Children check across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, as well as a current National Police Check. This provides verified access to schools, aged care facilities, childcare centres, disability services, and vulnerable person environments across all three states without the need for additional clearance arrangements.
All technicians also hold current red category ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) security identification cards, providing unrestricted access to both landside and airside areas across Australian airports and aviation facilities without escort or visitor access requirements. This makes Australian Slip Testing one of the few slip testing providers in Australia capable of conducting fully independent airside testing.
Our laboratory operates under a NATA-accredited Quality Management System compliant with ISO/IEC 17025, covering all aspects of our testing and reporting operations.
Australian Slip Testing is a proud ongoing sponsor of the McGrath Foundation and the Starlight Foundation. Both organisations hold deep personal significance to our team, and our ongoing support reflects a commitment to giving back to the communities we work in across Australia.
The McGrath Foundation funds McGrath Cancer Care Nurses in communities across Australia, and provide free expert clinical, psychosocial and emotional support to people and their families experiencing cancer. The Starlight Foundation brightens the lives of children and young people living with illness, disability, and disadvantage. We are honoured to support both.
Australian Slip Testing works with clients across a broad range of sectors, including commercial property, retail, healthcare, aged care, education, strata, facilities management, construction, aviation, hospitality, and government.
Our clients range from individual property owners to national portfolio managers, and from small residential strata bodies to major infrastructure operators.
Regardless of the size or complexity of the engagement, every client receives the same standard of independent, accredited, scientifically rigorous testing and reporting.
