Is There a Mandatory Testing Interval?
Australian Standards such as AS 4586 and AS 4663 define how slip resistance is measured but do not prescribe mandatory testing intervals. There is no single rule that says testing must occur every twelve months or every three years across all environments.
Guidance documents such as HB 198 recommend that slip resistance be assessed as part of ongoing risk management, particularly in higher-risk environments, but they leave the frequency decision to the organisation based on its own risk assessment.
